KOLLAM: The re-postmortem of Kollam native Athulya, who was found dead in Sharjah, has been completed. The body has been handed over to the family. The funeral will be held this evening in the house compound. The family alleges that Athulya's death was due to physical and mental torture by her husband, Satheesh Shankar.
The police have registered a case in the incident and have started an investigation. The investigation is progressing under the leadership of Karunagappally ASP Anjali Bhavana. Athulya's postmortem was conducted in Sharjah. The forensic examination results in Sharjah indicated that there was no abnormality in the death. The conclusion was that she had hanged herself. However, Athulya's family alleged that her death was suspicious and a re-postmortem was conducted. A lookout notice has been issued to bring Satheesh back to India.
Athulya was found hanging on the 19th of this month. She had been working in Sharjah for the past few years. Athulya was about to start a new job when she died. Satheesh was a site engineer in a company in Sharjah. He was fired from his job after Athulya's death. Athulya and Satheesh got married 11 years ago.
