KOZHIKODE: Three civil police officers in Kannur have been suspended after they allegedly allowed Kodi Suni, an accused in the T.P. Chandrasekharan murder case, to consume alcohol. The suspension follows an inquiry into an incident that occurred on July 17.
According to reports, Suni and the other accused were being transported back from the Thalassery court when they stopped at a hotel for food. It was during this halt that they were allegedly permitted to drink alcohol. The matter came to light recently, prompting disciplinary action against the officers involved.
This is not the first controversy surrounding Suni; earlier, reports had surfaced alleging that he had access to a mobile phone while in prison.
