THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Equipment purchased with the money of people’s representative in the medical college, has gone missing. Equipment including oscilloscope worth Rs 20 lakh have gone missing, the minister said while talking to the media. A departmental inquiry will be conducted in this regard. It is hinted that allegations are being levelled as part of a move to tighten action against Dr Harris.
'It is a natural step to seek an explanation from Dr Harris Chirakkal, who revealed in a Facebook post that there is no necessary equipment to conduct a surgery. This is just a natural procedure for violating the code of conduct of government officials.
Some more things have been found based on that report. The investigation committee found that a part of the equipment purchased from the MP fund has gone missing. This was not reported before,' the minister told media. The minister added that the missing equipment was purchased from Shashi Tharoor MP's fund and an investigation will be conducted in this regard.
However, opposition leader V D Satheesan said that an attempt is being made to implicate the doctor in a theft case in the name of investigation. The doctor, who told the truth is being crucified, said Satheesan.
