THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister Saji Cherian said that a comprehensive film policy will be formulated within three months by codifying the discussions at the film conclave. He was speaking at the closing ceremony of the film conclave held as part of the film policy formulation.

"Full security will be provided to both men and women on locations by ensuring gender equality. More than 80 percent of the film's budget is spent on the actors. They should decide to reduce the amount themselves. Consideration will be given to bringing a common code of conduct to prevent review bombing from ruining the film. A single-window system will be introduced to grant permission for film shooting. At least one screening will be ensured in government theatres for independent films. Subsidies will be provided to them. A comprehensive policy will be formulated that includes a television policy," the minister said.

The function held at the R. Sankaranarayanan Thampi Hall in the Legislative Assembly was inaugurated by director Adoor Gopalakrishnan. Finance Minister KN Balagopal presided over the function. Poet and filmmaker Sreekumaran Thampi was the chief guest. Surya Krishnamurthy, KSFDC Chairman K Madhu, Film Academy Chairman Prem Kumar, actresses Padmapriya and Nikhila Vimal, Director of the Cultural Department Divya S. Iyer, Additional Secretary Rajan Khobragade, Film Academy Secretary C Ajoy and others were present.
