shweta-menon

KOCHI: The police have registered a case against actress Shweta Menon on the complaint of earning money via pornographic films. The case has been registered under Section 67 (a) of the IT Act. The FIR also said that the lewd scenes were circulated on social media. A case has also been registered under the Obscenity Act. The case has been registered by the Kochi Central Police.

It is heard that the police registered the FIR as per the order of the Ernakulam CJM Court. The complaint was filed by public activist Martin Menachery. The complaint was filed pointing that all the films in which she acted earlier contained obscene scenes. The complaint covers a long list of films including Rathinirvedam, and Paleri Manikyam released after censoring, an advertisement for a contraceptive condom in which Shweta had previously acted and Kalimannu which depicted a childbirth.

The actress is contesting for the president’s post of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). There is also suspicion that there is mystery in the emergence of such a case at this time. We will have to examine how a complaint has now arisen about a film that was released years ago.
