KOZHIKODE: More details have emerged in the case of two sisters found dead in a rented house. The initial postmortem report indicates that the sisters were murdered. Sreejaya (71) and Pushpa (66), natives of Moozhikkal Moolakadai, were found dead inside a room. It is reported that both of them were strangled to death. The incident took place in a rented house on Karikamkulam Floral Road near Chevayoor. Their brother Pramod, who was with them, is missing. They had been living there on rent for the past three years.
Pramod had informed his relatives and friends about the death of his sisters at around 5 am this morning. The relatives found the bodies when they went to the house and checked. The bodies were in two rooms, covered with white cloth and with only their heads visible. The relatives said that they tried to contact Pramod on the phone but could not get through. The neighbours said that they received a message that the phone had been switched off after it had initially rang.
Neighbours say that Sreejaya and Pushpa are sisters who had come to the hospital near the rented house for treatment of some ailments. Pramod's mobile location was checked and it was revealed that he was in the Farook area before he turned off the phone. The police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
