THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Tragedy returned to the dangerous fishing harbour of Muthalapozhi in Thiruvananthapuram as two fishermen lost their lives after their boat capsized on late Monday night. Michael and Joseph, natives of Anchuthengu, died in the incident. Three other people, who were in the boat, miraculously escaped. Strong waves in the area caused the boat ‘Karmala Mata’ to capsize. Anu, a native of Anchuthengu, is the owner of the boat.

The bodies of the fishermen who died in the accident will be cremated today. The bodies will be handed over to the relatives soon after the postmortem. It is also reported that the fishermen's community will stage a protest over the repeated accidents and fatalities in the region, which they blame the government for not doing enough to prevent such happenings.
