BENGALURU: In a shocking incident, a man killed his childhood friend following tensions over an illicit relationship. The incident took place in Machohalli in Bengaluru. Real estate businessman Vijay Kumar (39) was killed by his childhood friend Dhananjaya. Both of them had been friends for nearly 30 years.

The friendship between the two soured after Vijay Kumar found out that Dhananjaya was having an illicit affair with his wife Asha. Dhananjaya, who often visited Kumar's house, grew close to Asha. Even after Kumar warned them, the two continued to meet. Unable to tolerate it, Kumar moved to a rented house in Machohalli. However, the affair still went on.

After killing Kumar, Dhananjaya went into hiding. The Madanaiyakanahalli police have taken Asha into custody for questioning. Police said Asha and Dhananjaya had conspired to kill Kumar so they could continue their relationship. Bengaluru District Police Superintendent C.K. Baba said the investigation is in progress and the accused will be arrested soon. Kumar married Asha ten years ago, and the couple has two children.
