THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police have registered a case against five SFI activists from outside the school in connection with the incident of locking up the school principal. The case was registered against SFI activists Afzal, Fathima Hisana and three other students. The action was taken following a complaint by the principal of Thattathumala Government Higher Secondary School.
The incident was caused by issues related to school elections. The principal's complaint states: On Tuesday, at around 3:30 pm, a five-member SFI group reached the principal's room, turned off the CCTV camera and locked the main gate adjacent to the principal's room. The Kilimanoor police arrived, broke the lock and let the principal out.
A student from KSU threatened an SFI student who had registered to contest the school elections. It is reported that the principal was locked down due to the provocation and lack of action despite a complaint. Meanwhile, the principal said that the problem was resolved by calling the student who raised the complaint and his parents to the school.
