THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: ADGP M R Ajith Kumar faced a setback in the disproportionate assets case. The special vigilance court rejected the report of the vigilance giving clean chit to the officer. A vigilance investigation was conducted in connection with the land purchased by Ajith Kumar in the name of his brother-in-law at Kowdiar in Thiruvananthapuram. The court was considering a plea filed by lawyer Nagaraj against this.

He bought land worth Rs 70 lakh per cent and built a luxurious house there. It was alleged that he bought the land and built a house using corrupt money. The petitioner also informed the court that the chief minister's political secretary P Sasi had gone out of the way and helped ADGP. Nagaraj had mentioned in his plea that the clean chit given to Ajith Kumar was due to his top influence. The court, considered the plea and rejected the clean chit after examining the vigilance report and other details. With this, there will be investigation against Ajith Kumar again.

Ajith Kumar built a house in Kowdiar with luxurious facilities including a lift. The question was raised from the beginning as to how a person drawing government salary could build a house worth crore. However, the vigilance gave him a clean chit after stating that Ajith Kumar had taken a loan and also borrowed money from his brother-in-law.
