NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court treaded a fine line on the matter demanding restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. The court added that security issues cannot be ignored, and it is imperative to accept the realities. The suggestion was made by a bench comprising Chief Justice B.R. Gavai and Justice K. Vinod Chandran, as they considered petitions seeking the restoration of statehood.

The court, which sought the central government's stand on the matter, adjourned the matter for consideration after eight weeks.
