GHAZIABAD: A woman sub-inspector met with a tragic end after her motorbike collided with a car. The incident took place in Uttar Pradesh. The deceased has been identified as Kanpur native Richa Sachan (25), an SI at Kavinagar Police Station.

The accident occurred around 2 AM yesterday. Richa was returning home on her motorbike after night patrolling duty when a stray dog suddenly jumped across the road. In an attempt to avoid hitting the dog, Richa lost control of the bike and collided with a car. The car reportedly ran over her. Although she was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries, her life could not be saved.

Richa was posted at the Shastri Outpost under the Kavinagar Police Station. Reports say she was riding at a speed of around 50 km/h at the time of the accident and was wearing a helmet. The driver of the car fled the scene after the collision.

Richa had joined the Uttar Pradesh Police in 2023 and was officially posted to Kavinagar Police Station in March 2025 after completing her training at the Police Training School in Meerut. Alongside her job, she was also preparing for civil service exams. Her father, Rambabu, is a farmer. Richa was the youngest of his five children.

She had a passion for bikes and bought her Bullet motorbike two years ago. In December last year, she was involved in a minor road accident but continued her duties without taking leave.
