PALAKKAD: A complaint has been filed regarding the death of a chicken that Mahila Morcha workers brought during a protest march demanding the resignation of MLA Rahul Mamkootathil. The chicken died during the protest march to the MLA’s office.

In his complaint to the Animal Husbandry Department, the Animal Welfare Board, and the SP, SPCA member Haridas Machingal stated that the Mahila Morcha leaders showed cruelty to the chicken. He demanded that a case be registered under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and an investigation be conducted.

Mahila Morcha workers had tied a chicken to the MLA office board yesterday, which led to a scuffle. Following this, the police removed the protesters by force. In the meantime, the chickens brought by the workers got loose. Later, the workers themselves caught them and took them away.
