MALAPPURAM: Samastha leader Dr Bahauddeen Nadwi has clarified on his wife-in-charge's remarks against ministers and MPs. He said that his remarks were not discussed in the Samastha Mushavara. Nadwi added that he had not insulted anyone and that it cannot be proven that he spoke abusively in his speech.

'Some people were making my remarks controversial with malicious intent. Some were hurt by my words. I did not mention about only ministers. I initially said officials. I did not project ministers. Yet some people distorted the statement in that way. The fact I said remains. They misinterpreted what I said. It is the mission of Samastha to campaign against injustice. That is what I said,' said Nadwi.

After Nadwi’s controversial remarks, Samastha Kerala Jamiyyatul Ulama Mushavara member Umar Faizi Mukkam criticized. Nadwi also responded to this. His response was that Umar Faizi Mukkam was the one who insulted Parvathy. Nadwi also asked if Umar Faizi Mukkam was saying that he had made a statement and caused disrespect.

Nadwi’s mockery was that many ministers, MPs and MLAs have in-charge wives in addition to their wives. Nadwi had said that they are all walking in society as respectable people by opposing polygamy. The insult was made while speaking at the Sunni Mahal Federation conference at Madavoor in Kozhikode.
