THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A second-year degree student of St Xavier's College in the capital city has ended her life. The victim has been identified as Anagha Suresh of Chirayinkeezhu. The Students Federation of India (SFI) alleged that she took the drastic step due to the harassment of teachers. She was found hanging at home on Thursday evening. The police have recovered a suicide note.
Her note said that she had difficulty in attending the seminar organized in the college. However, police said the note has neither mentioned anything about the teachers nor about the college management. Her classmates and SFI alleged that she ended her life due to pressure from teachers. The SFI will stage a march to the Secretariat at 4 pm today demanding a probe. Her postmortem is being conducted. No complaints have been lodged from her relatives so far.
