MALAPPURAM: A youth was electrocuted to death while washing his car. The dead has been identified as Murali Krishnan (36) of Chennalleeri Mana in Uppilappetta, Vaniyampalam. The incident happened Sunday morning at around 5 am. It is believed that he was electrocuted from the power washer used to wash the car. His family was at home at the time of the incident. They saw him lying near the car. The family was scheduled to attend a marriage function today.


Murali Krishnan is son of late U C Mukundan, owner of UC Petroleum. The police conducted an inquest and the body has been shifted to the medical college hospital. He leaves behind his mother Sheela, wife Aarathi and son Shankar Krishnan, a UKG student.

Meantime, an elderly tribal man was electrocuted to death in Chaliyar too. The dead is Shekhar (55) of Akampadam in Malappuram. Power connection was given to goats shed from his home. He was electrocuted while fixing the glitch. His sister Ambika was with him. She sustained serious injuries while trying to save him. Although both were taken to the district hospital, his life could not be saved.
