THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan explained in the Assembly the steps taken in the recent allegations against the police. The explanation was in response to Roji M. John's urgent motion.
Sujith had filed a complaint with the Thrissur City District Police Chief on April 12, 2023, alleging that he was assaulted at Kunnamkulam station. The SI and four CPOs were transferred after investigation. Their annual salary increment was stopped for two years. The policemen were suspended on the 6th. The Chief Minister also clarified that a review of the departmental disciplinary action is underway.
