MALAPPURAM: Major arms raid in Edavanna, Malappuram. Twenty air guns and three rifles were found from a house. More than 200 bullets and 40 pellet boxes were found. The large stock of arms was seized during a police search at a house in Edavanna. The police arrested the owner of the house, Unnikammad.

The search was based on confidential information that weapons were being stored and sold illegally. Unnikammad did not have a license to store so many weapons. A rifle, 40 rounds and a gun were found in the initial search conducted on the upper part of the house. A large cache of weapons was later found during a search of the shuttered area below the house.

More clarity is needed on where the weapons were brought from. The police have informed that more information will be obtained during questioning after taking the charged into custody. The police said that the investigation into the incident will continue.
