THRISSUR: Union Minister Suresh Gopi stepped forward with an explanation for refusing to accept an elderly’s request amidst a public interaction on developmental works. He responded that it was a mistake from his side. He added that an attempt is being made to obstruct his developmental work and that he will not permit that.

The union minister rejected the application of an elderly person identified as Kochu Velayudhan during the discussion. The videos of this were widely discussed. Velayudhan Chettan got a house and I am happy about it. There will be more people like Kochu Velayudhan. They will be sent there again and will make the party take action. Suresh Gopi said the list of the homeless will be released.

Suresh Gopi informed that more discussions on developmental works will be held in four districts. The applications should be handed over to the BJP district president. Not for personal needs. A representative is for the community. The Kalungu debate is a friendly venue. This will become a powerful force for all those who oppose it. This is not a warning but an information.

There is an understanding about what can be done within the limits of authority. I have done what I can do while serving as an MP. Another allegation is that I have not left the film industry. Why should I leave the industry, I don’t intend to leave the industry. Priority is given to projects using central funds, he said.
