THRISSUR: Union Minister Suresh Gopi has demanded that the money of depositors in the Karuvannur Cooperative Bank be returned without delay. He pointed out that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has already seized properties in Karuvannur and is ready to hand them over for repayment to the depositors. However, the state Cooperative Department has reportedly taken a stand against accepting the funds, Suresh Gopi alleged. The Union Minister clarified this while speaking at the Kalunk Souhruda Sadas in Irinjalakuda.

"You must get your money back. From what I have learned, the state Cooperative Department has decided not to accept the funds. If the ED deposits the seized money back into the account, it should be shared among the depositors. It may not be the full amount, but something is better than nothing. No need for an ED, no need for a Union Minister, no need for a state minister or even a Chief Minister. All I am saying is- return the money of the depositors with dignity," Suresh Gopi said.
