Superstar Ajith Kumar’s film 'Good Bad Ugly' was removed by streaming giants Netflix following an interim order by the Madras High Court on a petition by veteran musician Ilaiyaraaja. The court had banned the screening of the film on streaming platforms, including OTT, on a petition filed by Ilaiyaraaja alleging copyright infringement. Ilayaraja had approached the court alleging that his songs were used without permission.

He had claimed copyright infringement and demanded compensation of Rs 5 crore. The film's producers, Mythri Movie Makers, meanwhile, said that they have already taken permission from the copyright holders of the songs. The songs 'Ottha Ruba Tharen', 'Ilamai Ido Ido' and 'En Jodi Manja Kuruvi' were used in 'Good Bad Ugly', and it even ended up creating a retro trend. Ilaiyaraaja previously filed a petition in the Madras High Court alleging that his songs were used without permission.

The musician even gave a tough time to the makers of the hit movie ‘Manjummel Boys’ for using his songs without permission in the movie.
