ARYANAD: A lawyer of the Thiruvananthapuram Vanchiyoor court, who was undergoing treatment following a car accident, died on Wednesday. V.G. Anand (45), son of Gangadharan and Vasantha Kumari, of Parandode, Aryanad, died in the accident. The accident took place on the afternoon of the 13th at Vayalikkada, Eravoor, Aryanad.
While driving from Parandode to Aryanad to go to his workplace in Vanchiyoor, the car overturned into a stream near the road in Vayalikkada, Eravoor. Anand sought treatment at a private hospital and returned home.
However, the same night, he felt drowsy at his home and was admitted to another hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. It was found that Anand's kidney was damaged due to the impact of the fall and that his ribs had broken and even pierced into his lungs, leaving him critical. Anand succumbed to the injuries at 8:30 am on Wednesday.
After being kept for public viewing at the Bar Association Hall in Vanchiyoor, the mortal remains were taken home in a mourning procession and the final rites were held at night. Anand is survived by his wife, Rakhi. Children: Vaigaanand, A.R. Neerav. Sister: Panchami.
