MALAPPURAM: Dr Raju Narayana Swamy IAS, Principal Secretary to the Government of Kerala, popularly known as Kerala’s anti-corruption crusader, opined that ambition is the spur that makes one struggle with destiny.
According to him, it is God’s own incentive to make purpose great and achievement greater. Reminding the students that education does not begin with the learning of the alphabet, he went on to narrate the famous words of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru ‘Education stands for humanism, for tolerance, for adventure of ideas, for search for truth’. Dr Swamy was addressing a session titled ‘The Success Blueprint: Career and Beyond’ organised by the Career Guidance and Counselling cell of MSMHSS, Kallingalparamba, Malappuram District.
The right criterion to choose a career must be whether it suits oneself and definitely not whether it will yield more money in the long run. Dr Swamy also reminded the students that education begins with a mother’s look, a father’s nod of approbation, a sister’s gentle pressure of the hand and a brother’s noble act of forbearance. Principal of the School, Sri. Shaji Mathew and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
