KOTTAYAM: Report says the human skeleton found in the bushes near the Medical College High School grounds in Arpookkara is that of a male above 30. This has been clarified in the preliminary forensic report. The police said further examination will be conducted at the forensic lab in Thiruvananthapuram.
The skeleton was first seen by children practicing football at around 5 pm on Saturday. They then informed their coach. On being informed, a police team led by Gandhinagar Station SHO T Sreejith arrived. The police and forensic experts, led by the executive magistrate, collected the skeleton. The skeletons of the skull, rib and femur bones were found.
Police said the skeleton could be three to six months old. A double mundu, blue rubber shoes and half a bottle of water were found nearby. After completing the inquest proceedings, the body was shifted to the mortuary of the Kottayam Medical College Hospital. The police have registered a case in the incident and started an investigation. The initial investigation is focusing on the missing people from the area. The police have clarified that only one missing case of a woman has been registered in the area in recent times. The police are in the process of collecting information about those who have gone missing from the area in the last ten years.
