SIVAGIRI: Mahasamadhi Day was observed as World Peace Day at Sivagiri Mutt. The Mahaparinirvana Conference held under the chairmanship of Sree Narayana Dharmasangham Trust President Swami Sachidananda was inaugurated by Aptalokananda Swamiji Maharaj of Pathanamthitta Sri Ramakrishna Math.

Swami Paramatmanandagiri, a disciple of Gurudeva's disciple Sadguru Malayala Swami, delivered the Mahasamadhi message. Dharmasangham Trust Treasurer Swami Sharadananda and Swami Sookshmananda delivered the blessing discourse. V.M. Sudheeran, Adoor Prakash MP, V.Joy MLA, Varkala Municipality Chairman K.M.Laji, Varkala Block Panchayat Adv. Smita Sundaresan and others spoke. Sree Narayana Dharmasangham Trust General Secretary Swami Shubhangananda welcomed the gathering and Gurudharma Prakashan Sabha Secretary Swami Asanganandagiri delivered the vote of thanks.

Swami Sachidananda delivered the Mahaparinirvana discourse of Gurudeva and the Satyavrat Swami Nirvana Centenary Commemoration discourse. Swami Paranandaya led the fast at the Vedic Mutt.

In the afternoon, a homa yagna was held at the Sarada Mutt under the leadership of the eminent sanyasins. Then, a Kalasha Pradakshina Yatra was held under the leadership of Swami Sachidananda and Swami Shubhanganananda to the Mahasamadhi Mandir. Swami Sookshmananda, Mutt Tantri Swami Shiva Narayana Tirtha, Swami Asanganandagiri, Swami Paramatmanandagiri and others participated. Thousands participated in the Mahasamadhi Puja at 3.30. Shivagiri was filled with devotion, with the chanting of Om Namo Narayanaya mantras.
