THRISSUR: DYFI District Secretary Sarath Prasad has been suspended from the party for one year over the controversial conversation in which it was alleged that CPM leaders had made illegal gains. The matter was reported by state committee member P.K. Biju in the district committee meeting.
The decision to take disciplinary action was taken after it was realized that the explanation given by Sarath was not satisfactory. The issue was discussed when State Secretary M.V. Govindan came to Thrissur. What has come to light was a conversation that Sarath had, where he spoke against leaders like AC Moideen MLA and Kerala Bank Vice Chairman MK Kannan. Sarath had the conversation with DYFI district committee member Nibin Srinivasan, who was expelled from the party.
