shehbaz-sharif

NEW YORK: India strongly responded to Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's speech at the UN General Assembly. India described Sharif's remarks as absurd theatrics. No degree of drama by Pakistan can conceal facts, said Indian diplomat Petal Gahlot while replying. She criticized that what she saw in the Assembly was a re-glorification of terrorism, which is the core of Pakistan's foreign policy. Gehlot also pointed out Pakistan's history of terrorism.

‘No drama, no matter how big the lie, can hide the reality. This is the same Pakistan that tried to protect the Pakistan-sponsored terrorist organization 'Resistance Front', which brutally killed tourists in Pahalgam in the Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, at the UN Security Council on April 25, 2025,’ Gehlot said.

‘It is not surprising that a country that has been cultivating and exporting terrorism for years is spreading such strange things. This is a country that sheltered Osama bin Laden for a decade and at the same time pretended to be a partner in the war on terror. It should also be remembered at this juncture that their ministers recently admitted that they have been running terror camps for decades. It is not surprising that this double standard continues even at the level of the Prime Minister,’ added Petal Gehlot.

Shehbaz had earlier said that India's attempt to unilaterally suspend the Indus Water Treaty is a violation of the terms of the treaty and international law. He said that US President Trump is a 'proponent of peace' who resolves conflicts around the world The Pakistani Prime Minister, who was described as a "great leader", was also praised for resolving the conflict between India and Pakistan.
