BENGALURU: Public displays of affection are often not accepted in various parts of India. Many see couples hugging or kissing in public as a serious offence. In such cases, there are often people who chase them away in the name of morality. Now, a warning notice put up by an autorickshaw driver in Bengaluru for couples has become a topic of discussion on social media.
In the notice, the driver clearly warns couples not to kiss, hug or even hold their hands while travelling in his autorickshaw. Though it may appear humorous, the notice was written in a very direct manner and reminds passengers that an autorickshaw is not a private space and not a place for romance.
The laminated notice was pasted on the back seat of the autorickshaw. A passenger, who travelled in the vehicle, captured a photo of the notice and shared it on social media. The notice read, 'No romance. This is a cab. Our private space, not OYO. So please distance and stay calm. Give respect and take respect.
The unusual rule by the driver has sparked laughter online. The passenger’s photo quickly went viral, and many users reacted both in support of and against the driver’s stance.
'It’s his vehicle. He has the right to say no to unwanted behaviour,' one user commented. Another wrote, 'He must have put up this notice after witnessing such acts inside his auto.'
