THRISSUR: The police identified the half-burnt body found in the quarters at Chowannur in Kunnamkulam. The dead is Shiva (34) of Tamil Nadu. The tattoo seen in his body turned crucial in the investigation. Shiva had tattooed his wife’s name on his chest. The police were able to identity the body after finding his family with the help of the tattoo. He was staying in a rented house in Perumpilavu.


On Saturday evening, a half-burnt body was found in a building where migrant workers live. The police had earlier arrested the accused Sunny (61) in the incident. The accused told police that he murdered him after he refused to have unnatural sex. However, Sunny told police that he does not know him.


Sunny lured Shiva by offering him liquor and then took him to his rented house in Chowannur. The two had also decided to cook and eat food together. When they making preparations for that, Sunny tried to sexually assault him. When he did not comply with it, he stabbed him with a knife and hit him on his head with a frying pan. The accused was in the room with the body the whole night. The next morning, he collected the belongings in the room and set the body on fire before escaping. The half-burnt body was first seen by the locals who broke the door and entered the building after seeing smoke emanating.


Sunny, who was arrested, is an accused in two murders. He had killed his relative, a woman and a migrant worker. He was jailed for seven years in one of these cases. He was a security guard at a textile shop in Thrissur.
