ABU DHABI: The UAE National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority warned that the country's weather will change significantly from Friday until the middle of next week. The authorities also announced initiating precautions to counter any calamities.
“Coordination is underway between federal and local authorities. The weather conditions are being monitored continuously. We are fully prepared to deal with any developments,” the Disaster Management Authority said. Meteorologists expect heavy to moderate rainfall, strong winds and thunderstorms in the region.
The UAE National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) earlier announced that a low-pressure area will develop from the south in the UAE from October 10 to October 14. This is likely to bring relatively cold and humid air along with high levels of low pressure.
Such low-pressure areas are associated with dark, cloudy weather and rain. This can lead to rough seas, high waves, and reduced horizontal visibility, the NCM had pointed out.
