KANNUR: A heartwarming incident took place early Friday morning at the Kannur Railway Station. The Antyodaya Express, travelling from Thiruvananthapuram to Mangaluru, arrived at the station about half an hour early on platform number one.
A young woman stepped out of the train, quietly placed a small parcel on a bench outside the railway police station, and quickly got back on the train before it left. She moved carefully, avoiding attention, and placed the parcel secretly behind a post.
When the police noticed the unattended parcel and checked it, they found chocolates and a note inside. The note read:
'Dear Kerala Police, your night patrol makes me feel safer. Thank you.'
The identity of the young woman is still unknown. The police later shared the note and the chocolates on social media, saying that such gestures bring them great joy.
“The Kerala Police carries out night patrol on trains across the state, mainly to ensure the safety of women and children travelling at night. The young woman’s gesture was in appreciation of that effort. This is not just a gift to the Kannur Police, but a token of gratitude to the entire Kerala Police,” a police officer told the media.
