THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: With the local body elections just a few months away, the UDF has decided to cooperate with the Janadhipathya Rashtriya Party (JRP) led by CK Janu. Janu had earlier written to the UDF seeking cooperation, and sources say the UDF leadership meeting recently took a favourable stand on the proposal.

However, senior leaders Ramesh Chennithala and K Muraleedharan have expressed their disagreement. The JRP is expectedly to formally join the UDF before the local body elections. CK Janu said that the party has not put forward any conditions for joining the front. Earlier, the JRP was part of the NDA. Janu said the party left the NDA after facing neglect.
