saddam-kerala-arrested

MALAPPURAM: A youngster was arrested for sexually assaulting a differently abled woman in Malappuram. The incident took place in Kondotty, Malappuram. Saddam, a native of Karuvarakundu, was arrested in the incident. After meeting the 24-year-old through social media and coaxing her to send nude photos, Saddam even tried to sexually assault her. The police arrested Saddam after a case was registered on the complaint of the young woman.

The attempted rape took place between September 30 last month and October this month. The woman was studying in a hostel. The man introduced himself to the woman through social media, claiming to be the leader of an organisation working for differently-abled children and a motivational speaker. He soon promised her marriage and convinced her that he would meet her family soon. This led to him gaining trust of the woman, which made her send private photos to him. The accused even tried to sexually molest her once.

The young woman, who felt mentally disturbed by Saddam's behaviour, told her family about the matter. She then filed a complaint with the Kondotty police. Based on the complaint, the police registered an FIR on the 7th of this month. The accused was produced in court.
