Bold and buoyant is what best defines actress Kani Kusruti. After creating raves with her eclectic walk down the ramp during the Cannes Film Festival, the Malayalam actress is keen on settling down in Bollywood. Kani is the daughter of social activists Maitreyan and Dr Jayashree. Now, actor and director Alleppy Ashraf shared about Kani's life on his YouTube channel.

“Kani faced vile criticism and ridicule from all quarters, more than accolades for her award-winning performance in the movie Biriyani. Kani is a perfectionist. She decided to go nude in the movie as the character commended it. Even at the prestigious Cannes festival, Kani held firm on her views that she carried a bag resembling a watermelon, to deftly express her solidarity with Palestine on the global stage.

Kani is not ready to give birth to a child. She has also made arrangements to freeze and store eggs for the future. Kani says that if she does not need it in the future, she is willing to donate. The actress is settled in Goa with a group of friends amidst the lush greens of the coastal city. Kani stays in her rented home with her former beau, Anand Gandhi, and his current partner, Shreya.”
