MALAPPURAM: A five-year-old boy was abandoned on the road for the delay in paying the bus fee. A UKG student of Malappuram Chelambra LP School was abandoned on the road. The headmistress had directed the staff of the bus not to carry him in the bus due to late payment of the bus fee of Rs 1000. However, the family said that they were not informed about this earlier. The family has filed a complaint with the education minister, child protection committee and the police demanding action in the incident.

As usual, the boy was waiting for the bus with another child. As the headmistress had directed the staff not to board him in the bus, they did not carry the child. The school bus stopped and carried the other child. The boy left alone walked home crying. When the neigbours saw the boy crying and walking, they took him home safely.

After the news surfaced, the school authorities and PTA members reached the boy’s house and apologized. The family said the incident has affected the child mentally and they are not willing to send him to the same school again.
