LUCKNOW: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh warned that Pakistan is now within the range of the BrahMos missile. Singh termed Operation Sindoor simply as a trailer that made the world aware of the capabilities of the Indian army. Rajnath Singh also spoke about India's growing defence strength and glorified that winning has become a habit for the country's military. Singh’s statement came after flagging off the first batch of Brahmos missiles in Lucknow.

"In Operation Sindoor, Brahmos proved to be viable for India's security. Success is not just an incident. Rather, it has become our habit. What happened in Operation Sindoor was just a trailer. That trailer itself convinced Pakistan that if India can give birth to Pakistan, it can also take it back.

100 missiles will be manufactured each year and supplied to the Army, Navy and Air Force. The Brahmos facility has been set up on about 200 acres. The total cost is Rs 380 crore. Hundreds of people will get employment,” said Rajnath Singh.

The first stage of the two-stage BrahMos missile is a solid propellant booster engine.

It takes the missile to supersonic speeds. The liquid ramjet or second stage takes the rocket to a speed of Mach 2.8 in the cruise phase. The missile's special features include stealth technology and a guidance system with advanced embedded software. With a maximum range of up to 290 km, this missile can fly at supersonic speeds, which reduces flight time and thereby ensures low dispersion of targets, fast engagement times, and no interference with any known weapon system in the world.
