KARWAR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Diwali with Indian Navy personnel aboard the indigenously built aircraft carrier INS Vikrant. During his visit, he highlighted the ship's importance and praised the strength and courage of India's naval forces. Modi said that INS Vikrant created fear in Pakistan and gave them sleepless nights.

"Just hearing the name INS Vikrant is enough to make Pakistan lose its sleep. If a name alone can weaken the enemy's courage, that is INS Vikrant," the Prime Minister said while addressing naval officers

He added that it was an honour for him to celebrate Diwali with the brave sailors of the nation aboard INS Vikrant.

“On one side is the vast ocean, and on the other are the brave soldiers of Mother India. This is a truly remarkable and unforgettable day,” Modi said.

Praising the strength of the Indian Armed Forces, Modi also referred to Operation Sindoor. He said that the fear created by the Navy, the skill displayed by the Air Force, and the bravery of the Army, along with their perfect coordination, forced Pakistan to surrender quickly during the war.

“INS Vikrant, sailing through the seas, reflects the military strength of India. It is not just a warship but a symbol of India’s capability and determination in the 21st century,” the Prime Minister said.

Recalling his evening with the Navy personnel, Modi said the experience was beyond words.

“I saw your energy and enthusiasm. When you sang patriotic songs and performed acts depicting Operation Sindoor, I realised that the emotions of a soldier on the battlefield cannot be fully expressed in words,” he added.

Speaking about India’s defense systems, Modi said that while the equipment and ships are powerful, it is the courage of the people who operate them that gives them real strength.

“These ships may be made of iron, but when you step aboard, they become living, breathing symbols of the nation’s defense power,” he said.

The Prime Minister concluded by saying that he learns something from the soldiers every moment and that he can only imagine how challenging it is to live such a disciplined and devoted life every day.
