KOCHI: The Kerala High Court will attend the screening of the film 'Haal' after the makers approached the court, refusing to comply with the censor board order. The court will watch the film at 7 pm this Saturday, taking into account the demands of the petitioner, producer, and director. The film will be watched at the studio in Kakkanad. Representatives of the Catholic Congress and members of the Censor Board who have joined the party will come to watch the film with Justice V G Arun.
The court had earlier granted the application filed by Catholic Congress Thamarassery Diocese President K.V. Chacko to join the case. The film, starring Shane Nigam, shows the love story between a Muslim man and a Christian woman. Producer Juby Thomas and director Muhammed Rafeeq (Veera) argued that the censor was asking them to make unnecessary cuts to the film.
The Censor Board suggested changes such as removing the scene of eating beef biryani, blurring the parts where the rakhi is worn, and changing some scenes related to Christian sentiments. The censor also suggested removing the insignia of Sangh, sly remarks taking a dig at the Sangh Parivar. The Censor Board demanded changes in a total of 19 scenes. The board suggested giving an 'A' certificate to the movie if the changes are made.
