
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CPI has expressed strong dissatisfaction over the action of the education department joining central government’s PM Shri despite the party's opposition. The CPI state secretariat, which will meet at 12 noon today, will discuss the issue. The MoU was signed unilaterally without even considering the assurance of CPM General Secretary M A Baby that the LDF would discuss it. The CPI's general opinion is that it is a violation of front etiquette.
The CPI leaders' move is to meet the chief minister to convey their dissatisfaction. The CPI will hold discussions with other constituent parties. The CPI will also convey their displeasure to the CPM national leadership. The CPI will seek the intervention of the national leadership. It is also reported that they will stay away from the cabinet meet. The CPI is worried about how to deal with the ridicule of the opposition and the concerns of its ranks. CPI state secretary Binoy Viswam will write a letter to national general secretary D Raja.
The AISF has also decided to protest against the action of the education department. In a press release issued by AISF, it has been said that the government's action is a deceitful stand. AISF has also informed that they will stage protests on the streets against the government's action of signing the PM Shri project. State president P K Nawaz has called for protests at the panchayat and campus levels and for burning the effigy of the chief minister.
