ALAPPUZHA: The meeting between Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and CPI State Secretary Binoy Viswam to resolve the dispute over the PM SHRI scheme ended without any breakthrough. The meeting took place at the Alappuzha Guest House. With the talks failing, the CPI has decided that its ministers will skip Wednesday’s cabinet meeting. Ministers K Rajan, GR Anil, P Prasad, and Chinchurani will not attend the meeting.
The meeting between the Chief Minister and Binoy Viswam lasted for about 45 minutes. Later, Ministers K Rajan, GR Anil and P Prasad also met the Chief Minister. Following that, the CPI state secretariat convened a meeting in Binoy Viswam's room at the guest house.
Speaking to the media after the talks, Binoy Viswam said, “We had a discussion with the Chief Minister, but the issues we raised have not been resolved. Our concerns remain. The Communist Party has its own leadership. We will announce our next steps after proper discussions."
