ALAPPUZHA: SFI state president M Sivaprasad has responded sharply to Union Minister Suresh Gopi's criticism that Alappuzha has been ruined by communism. The response was made through Facebook. Sivaprasad wrote that the wind of Alappuzha may cure some of his lunacy.

'Joining the RSS after abandoning intelligence and consciousness is like taking off your shoes and entering a house. Kendra Praja Pramukh Suresh Gopi is a good example of this. If this dweeb minister, who mocks the history of struggle of Alappuzha, comes here and breathes the wind of Alappuzha and touches its soil, perhaps the lunacy that has affected him may be cured without any other treatment. The wind, sea, soil and sky of Alappuzha all have a story to tell. An eventful historical story of the battle of the working class,' Sivaprasad wrote.

Suresh Gopi made the controversial remark while speaking at the SG Coffee Times program. 'There is no facility in any hospital in Alappuzha. Thrissur people should pray to Vadakkunathan and Our Lady of Lourdes to get AIIMS for Alappuzha. It was said in 2016 that AIIMS should be for Alappuzha. I still stand by it. I have not said that AIIMS will come to Thrissur. There is no politics or regionalism in this. I have only a single father. Alappuzha is a district that was destroyed by communism.
