IDUKKI: ‘There is nothing like a loyal and dependable friend,’ goes the popular quote. However, the story from Idukki introduces us to not one but three loyal friends who came to aid another who lost his livelihood in an unexpected flood. On the 18th, a traveller named Vinayaka, owned by Rejimon, was swept away in the Koottar river flood. The visuals of this were discussed on social media. Now, on the banks of the same Koottar, Rejimon is overcome with happiness as his three friends handed over the keys of a new traveller they bought for him.
The new vehicle was gifted to Rejimon by his friends from Kannur, who are IT engineers in Bengaluru. Anjitha, Subin and a person who did not want to disclose identity paid for the Traveller. Since they were unable to reach the home town, two other people were entrusted with handing over the keys. The Traveller was purchased from Idukki 8th Mile for Rs 14.5 lakhs.
Rejimon said he has been friends with the group for almost eight years. Caught in emotion, Rejimon said that this show of magnanimity from his friends will remain etched in his heart. Traveller's drivers Santosh and Raja Krishna Menon also shared their joy at receiving the new vehicle.
