CHENNAI: The announcement of a new Vande Bharat operating services from Bengaluru to Ernakulam was made a few days ago. BJP state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar announced via a Facebook post that Union Railway Minister Ashwani Vaishnav had announced that the service would start by mid-November. The Ernakulam-Bengaluru Vande Bharat service was started last year considering the rush. However, the service was withdrawn without making it permanent.

Vice President C P Radhakrishnan has now come with a new announcement about the new Vande Bharat to Kerala. The Vice President said the Ernakulam-Bengaluru Vande Bharat service will start soon. He, who was on his first official visit to his home state Tamil Nadu, announced that the new service will resume soon while participating in an event organized by the Coimbatore Citizen Forum. This was reported by Deccan Herald. However, there has been no official response from the railways in this regard.

‘The railways have consented to two of my requests. For the benefit of the industry, the Vande Bharat from Ernakulam to Bengaluru will halt at four stations-- Coimbatore, Tirupur, Erode and Salem. For the benefit of migrant workers working in the textile hubs of Coimbatore and Tirupur, a daily train service will be operated from Ranchi to Coimbatore,' said the Vice President.

The new Vande Bharat will be very useful for those travelling between these two cities during the day. It will also benefit Bengaluru and those travelling between cities in Tamil Nadu. The new train is likely to have six stops. Thrissur and Palakkad in Kerala and the remaining four stops in Tamil Nadu will be Coimbatore, Tirupur, Erode and Salem.
