THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Classrooms across Kerala are set to come alive today as schools reopen after the summer vacation. This academic year sees over three lakh new pupils entering Class I to begin their formal education. To mark the occasion, schools across the state have organised 'Praveshanolsavam'—a festive welcoming ceremony for the new batch of students. Chief Minister VD Satheesan will officially inaugurate the state-level celebrations at the Pattom Government Model Girls Higher Secondary School, in a function presided over by Education Minister N. Shamsuddeen. The General Education Department has issued directives to hold localised interaction programs at both district and school levels to help young learners transition smoothly. Reflecting a modern priority, students, teachers, and parents will also collectively take a cybersecurity pledge today, highlighting the state's focus on digital safety right from the primary level.
