Man collapses and dies after casting vote in Thrissur

THRISSUR: A 65-year-old man collapsed and died soon after casting his vote at booth no 37 of Vaniampara EKMUP School. The dead is Unni Chekkan alias Vinod of Kombada Ramanchira.

The incident happened Thursday morning at 10.45 am. Vinod developed uneasiness when he came out after casting his vote. He collapsed when he was made to sit in a wheelchair by a team led by the polling officer. He was immediately rushed to Thrissur district hospital in an ambulance, but his life could not be saved. He leaves behind his wife Mallika.
