ABU DHABI: The luck seems not to be leaving Indians in the UAE's Big Ticket draw anytime soon. This is the same ticket that changed the fortunes of many expatriates. Four Indian expatriates, including two Malayalees, were awarded prizes in the Big Ticket draw held in the last week of April. The prize money is 25,000 dirhams (Rs. 23,72,762).

One of the winners is Mohammed Shafiq, a Malayali who has been working as a customer service executive in Abu Dhabi for the past 18 years. Shafiq, 38, heard about the Big Ticket from his friends. Shafiq is relieved that he will be able to pay off his loans with the prize money.

Another lucky winner is Mohammed Sameer, who has been working as a stock controller in Dubai for 14 years. Sameer (33) has been taking tickets for eight years. Sameer, who usually buys tickets with friends, tried his luck alone this time. Sameer is elated with the big win. Sameer also shared that he will use the prize money to go on a vacation with his family.

The third lucky winner, Ajesh Periyakottil George, is happy to claim his prize after buying his ticket online. Ajesh said that he has not decided how to spend the prize money. The other winner is Abdul, a Malayali who has been living in Abu Dhabi for 40 years.
