New terror threat: Hafiz Saeed using Bangladesh as launch pad against India
NEW DELHI: Intelligence inputs suggest that Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Hafiz Saeed is planning to launch attacks on India from Bangladeshi territory. Fresh reports indicate that militants based in Pakistan and operating under Saeed’s command are preparing new offensives. Sources in the intelligence community say Bangladesh is being turned into an emerging launch pad for these operations. These details surfaced in a video released on October 30.
In the video, Lashkar commander Saifullah Saif says, “Hafiz Saeed is not sitting idle. He is getting ready to attack India through Bangladesh.” He adds, “Our cadres are active in East Pakistan (Bangladesh). We are preparing to respond to India (in response to Operation Sindoor).”
The video further claims that Saeed has sent one of his close aides to Bangladesh to recruit youth and provide militant training. Saif also calls on people to join the war against India. Children were reportedly present at this event.
Saif praises the performance of the Pakistan Army during Operation Sindoor and claims that international conditions are changing. He says, “Now America is with us. Bangladesh is once again moving closer to Pakistan.”
Meanwhile, security agencies in India are on high alert regarding the threat emerging from the Bangladesh–Pakistan nexus. Surveillance has been intensified to prevent infiltration from the Bangladesh border.
