Dulquer Salmaan is a star who is fondly called DQ by his fans. Many of his films have a special fanbase among the audience. However, many call him nepo kid and question his acting. In general, many use that name to refer to those who follow in their parents' footsteps and enter the film industry.

Dulquer Salmaan is now responding to such remarks. He opened up about the reality of the name nepo kid and the privilege he gets as the son of versatile actor Mammootty. His latest film 'Kantha' is releasing on November 14. Dulquer’s response was in an interview given to an online media.

He said that being born in a film family has benefited him a lot. Being born in a film family is an advantage and not a disadvantage, he said.

'Sometimes, we feel like some people are targeting us. But I think anyone who achieves a certain level of fame or success is targeted in this way,’ Dulquer added.

Dulquer had shared his views on nepotism during the promotion of his film 'Chup'. ‘I was just 10 years old when I was selected for my first role. It had nothing to do with my father. It was definitely not a result of nepotism,’ he said.
