DUBAI: A Malayali youth was stabbed to death while attempting to resolve a verbal dispute. The deceased has been identified as Jaseel (32), a native of Cheruvannur in Kozhikode. The incident took place in a building behind Al Manar Centre in Al Qusais, Dubai.

Jaseel was stabbed while he was trying to resolve a dispute among his roommates. He sustained a serious injury to his neck and although the Dubai police rushed him to Rashid Hospital, his life could not be saved.

It is reported that the dispute started over issues related to alcohol consumption among those in the adjacent room. When Jaseel’s roommates questioned the drinking, it led to an attack. At that time, Jaseel, who had just returned after eating outside, intervened to settle the argument. During this, an intoxicated individual stabbed him in the neck with a knife.

The police arrived and apprehended the accused, who is also a Malayali. The body has been kept at Rashid Hospital in Dubai. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
