First policy address of 16th Kerala Assembly; Governor begins speech hin Malayalam

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The first policy address of the 16th Kerala Legislative Assembly has begun. Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar started his speech in Malayalam in the Assembly. This is the first policy address of the UDF government, which has returned to power after ten years. Only the first part of the Vande Mataram was played by the police band. This came after authorities rejected a directive that the full version of Vande Mataram should be played at events attended by the Governor.
